From motocross with the Hangover Scrambles of the Jones Creek Trail riders of Vancouver, WA to the hit series Fishing the Pacific Northwest, filmed on the lower Columbia River and Pacific Ocean, Stephen Allen stretched his imagination, turning the everyday people that you see on the street, into the actors of the movies. Filming the "everyday people" doing what they love to do brings out the reality in the series.
The cold crisp morning air hung over the valley as the sound of snowmobile engines erupted. And off they went. The first contender of the World Champion Snowmobile Hill Climbs started making his way up Snow King Mountain in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Not only was this the beginning race of this 33 year old event but the beginning of SunDog Film Productions.
Why not. Youth of today need some ideas of what other youth are doing in planning their future. A couple on a fishing trip were talking about their grandchildren and how much the competion of rodeoing had helped them in their school work and desire to achieve. After talking I found this was a four generation family of horse people with tons of experience. I presented them with the idea of Profile of Winners and the series was born. Both grandchildren went to National finals in 2012.
It was a risk and a stretch of imaginations to have unsuspecting people that came to Ilwaco, Washington for a day of fishing be the characters. The guests had booked a trip with Pacific Salmon Charters, little did they know cameras would be waiting as they climbed aboard. This was the first for some while others it was a repeat, but for all it was a first when they saw cameras waiting for them on board. With a little encouragement from the filming crew the excitement grew and the guests forgot that cameras were following them around the boat. This series aired on the Pursuit Channel in 2012. It was a hit so watch for a re-airing of this series sometime in 2013.
